Parece que estos días nos hemos vuelto locos con Snapchat.

It seems like we have all gone suddenly crazy about Snapchat.

¿Qué es Snapchat? Snapchat es una red social que permite enviar fotos y vídeos a contactos y amigos. Por lo general sólo se pueden visualizar una vez dentro del mismo día que se envía. Aunque si se envía a «Mi historia» se pueden ver los mensajes del día varias veces si lo deseas.

What is Snapchat? Snapchat is a social network where you can send pictures and videos to your contacts and friends. Mainly you can watch the message once but if you send it to «My Story» your contacts would be able to watch it several times in the next 24 hours after you sent it.

¿Por qué se ha vuelto la gente loca con Snapchat? Sinceramente, no lo sé. Para enviar fotos y vídeos se pueden utilizar otras redes sociales pero Snapchat sólo lo permite por un tiempo límitado por lo que o lo ves en el momento o te lo pierdes para siempre. Esta red social se hizo muy popular con la gente que enviaba fotos y videos subidos de tono ya que tiene la ventaja de que sólo permite verlo una vez. Lo que no quiere decir que la persona que lo recibe no pueda grabarlo con otro dispositivo o hacer una captura de pantalla asi que cuidadin a los que lo utilizaís para esto. Con el sexting hay que tener cabeza.

Why is people so crazy about Snapchat? I don´t know! You can send pictures and videos with other apps but given that it allows the images for a certain time it bacame popular for sexting. If you are using it for that please take into consideration that screenshots can be taken or that even they can record your message with a camera so do not send things you might regret.

¿Es fácil de utilizar? En principio sí pero no es tan intuitivo como otras redes sociales. Por eso, os hago una pequeña guía a los despistadillos.

Is it easy to use? Theorically yes but it is not as straightforward as other social networks. That is why I am making this simple guide.

Cómo empezar? Como en todas necesitas un nombre de usuario y contraseña. No te pide ni número de teléfono ni nada. Te pedirá la ubicación para determinar los filtros que puedes usar.

How to start? As always you wil need to set up a username and password. Is going to ask you for a telephone number. You will need to allow the location services if you want to use filters on your pictures.

Pantalla principal/ Main Screen

Nada más empezar el programa te lleva a tu cámara para que puedas tomar una foto o vídeo y mandarla. Pero antes vamos a ver la página de usuario y de ajustes.

The first thing you will see when you open the app is your camera ready to use. Before going there I will show you the user page and settings page.

Si deslizas el dedo de arriba a abajo, por donde está el fantasmita, te lleva a tu página de usuario:

If you move your finger from top to botton it will take you to the user page:

 Desde aquí tenéis la opción de añadir amigos bien con el nombre de usuario o escaneando el código QR del fantasmita para incluirlo. Mi usuario es: mirinconcitodem por si queréis seguirme.

From here you have the option of adding new friends with their username or scaning the QR code. Mi username is: mirinconcitodem in case you want to follow me.

desde esta pantalla puedes acceder a tu configuración:

from this page you can access the settings page:

Si vuelves a la página de entrada puedes bien realizar una foto pulsando una vez en el círculo o un vídeo si mantienes el circulo pulsado.

If you go back to the main screen you can take a picture taping the circle or if you maintain it pressed you will be recording a video.

Si realizas una foto te saldrá esta pantalla:

If you take a picture you will be redirected to this page;

Si además quieres añadir filtros puedes deslizar el dedo de derecha a izquierda y te aparecerá la siguiente pantalla:

If you want to include a filter you can slide your finger from right to left  and the first time it will ask you for permission and the next ones you would be just changing from one filter to another.

Los filtros sólo los permite si compartes la ubicación. Si lo aceptas cambia de filtro también deslizando el dedo de derecha a izquierda.

You would be only allowed to use filters if you share your location with Snapchat. As I said if you accept to share the location you can change the filter sliding the finger from right to left.

Si lo que realizas es un video la pantalla cambia un poco:

If what you are making a video the screen changes a little bit;

Por los filtros y lo demás se mantiene igual.

Filters work the same way.

Ahora vamos a ver qué nos han mandado. Para ello situate en la pantalla de inicio y si deslizas de izquierda a derecha te llevará a los mensajes que te han enviado personalmente a ti. Si deslizas de derecha a izquierda verás las historias de las personas a las que sigues:

Now we are going to see what people send us. Directly from the main screen on the botton left you can see the messages sent directly to you. This are the ones that you can only see once. If you slide from right to left you will the stories from the people you follow:

Para poder ver los mensajes debéis mantener pulsada la pantalla en todo momento.

To see any messages you must keep the screen touched.

Como veis también te hace sugerencias de cosas que suceden «En directo» y en el redondelito de arriba a la derecha está la opción Discovery para que os enseñe sugerencias.

As you can see it also gives you some suggestions of things happening «On air» and also you have on the upper right hand corner a circle that is the option «Discovery» where you can find other accounts.
